Theme Landscape

The Theme Landscape visualisation method addresses nodes that have nominal data as properties. Nominal data are categorical data where the order is arbitrary, like, for example, keywords or tags. The visualisation can show

  • hundreds of nodes each having
  • up to 6 keywords per view
  • out of a keyword catalogue that can have
  • hundreds of keywords
  • optionally structered in categories.

These are much more keywords than you can show using a color palette!

The nodes are arranged in space according to their overall similarity of keywords using an MDS algorithm. Additionally, the node icons indicate each selected keyword of the node.

This project is open source and can be downloaded at Google Code.
